Give us your best shot

Earlier this week, one of our customers was amused to get his debit card back with a picture of his cat in the spot where most people include a photo of themselves.

Some online media sites picked up on the story thinking Wells Fargo had erred in allowing the photo of the cat to be printed on the card even though it wasn’t the customer.

Well, we certainly would be willing to admit it if we made a mistake, but the customer followed our guidelines and policies for including an image on his card, so it passed. The photo on the card isn’t a security feature, but a way for you to personalize your debit or credit card.

Some customers choose to put a photo of their pet on their card.

In fact, any customer can add a photo to their card using the Wells Fargo Card Design Studio®. As long as the image follows our guidelines, the sky is the limit. In fact, more than 2.6 million cards have been customized using this tool.

So while we were pleased that our customer was a person and not a cat, we do recommend that he thinks twice before using the card in a dog store.

have been trying to customize my Wells Fargo debit card for a month. I’m trying to upload a picture from a vacation that I took with my camera. I can’t even get as far as the approval stage. My card is eligible to customize now. I click on select background, Now here are my 2 issues, usually I get to Design Card Studio but the wheel spins indeffinitely. The page usually times out after 10 or 15 minutes. I have gotten futher several other times, uploading the image (which meets all Wells Fargo criteria ) I aggree to terms, click submit, then ultimately get to another page that says This service temporarily unavailable. I’ve called Wells Fargo support several times with no results. They even put me thru to Website tech support and got a Incident # but never heard back from anyone. Have tried several Browsers : Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 18.0.1 , Google Chrome 24.0.1312.57 , or Safari 6 . Have used PC at work or Mac at home nothing works. Pleas Help!!!!!

I’m trying to update my debit card picture and I wanted to upload a new picture but it won’t let me do much before it signs me out saying that my session has timed out or expired so I sign in again and try it and it does the same thing. I’m not sure what to do?
